OUR PROCESS

The first step in commissioning a custom project such as a handrail, fire screen or any other item in our gallery is to give us a call or send us an email through our CONTACT US page with a description of your project. We always give a rough verbal estimate based on the size of your project to make sure that our pricing suits your budget. We will also let you know our current schedule since we often book up several months in advance. The next step is to schedule an on-site meeting to discuss the design and budget, or an online consultation if you live far away.  We provide the sketches for your consideration based on our consultation and once you approve the design, we will send you a work contract to sign and return along with a deposit.  All projects are completed at our shop rate of $80 per hour, plus the cost of steel.  Final payment is due upon completion.

HOW TO COMMISSION A PROJECT
RETURNS POLICY

Customers have 10 days to return undamaged and unused items (excluding personalized items) in exchange for a refund. Refunds will be issued via check in the mail and the original shipping cost will not be refunded. Please fill out our contact form to receive shipping instructions for sending back items for return. You are responsible for return shipment costs and we will not process refunds on items that have been damaged or lost in the mail. We recommend that you insure and track all return items for your protection.

Personalized items are not available for return once the mockup/layout has been approved by the customer via email. If we made a mistake on the hand-stamped personalization after the mockup/layout has been approved via email, then we will gladly make a new personalized item free of charge.

PERSONALIZATION

Depending on the item size, we can stamp messages up to 70 characters maximum on the back of most items for an additional $13.00 (please see individual item for specifications on personalization limits).

Please note that when we say all personalizations are “hand-stamped,” we mean just that. We use a blacksmithing hammer, 1/8 inch all-caps alphabet and numeric stamps, and our arm strength to personalize all items.  We also orientate all personalizations to suit the hand-stamping process, so we will decide how best to layout your message and we will not proceed with the stamping until we receive your approval of the mockup via email. Additional symbols available for hand-stamping are: / - . , ’ & !

Personalized items are not available for return once the customer has approved the mockup via email, unless we make a mistake that varies from the approved mockup, such as a misspelling. Please make sure to double check the information and spelling in your personalization. The perfection of a stamped letter or number can be slightly distorted due to the hammering and forming of hot metal, so please be aware that our personalized items will not look computer generated.  Please contact us at 304-744-2477 or fill out our contact form for more information.

SHIPPING

We use the US postal system through Etsy to ship all giftware items ordered online in the continental USA with delivery confirmation and insurance tracking. Please provide a valid postal address. Additional rates apply for Hawaii, Puerto Rico and international shipping.

All items that are in stock will be shipped within 48 hours (except on Sundays). Personalized items will be shipped within 6-10 business days because they are made-to-order and must be approved by the customer via email.   

Custom wrought iron projects such as tables, railings, fire screens, etc. are always shipped using freight companies.
